Christmas Blues

Is it over yet? The level of Christmas spirit is overwhelming... If one more man lets a door slam in my face i'm going to go off!!! People are so crazy and rude this time of year. Traffic is out of control, everyone is sick - i'm getting sick - i've got the sniffles and the coughs and the aches and i'm tired and i just want to stay in bed and do nothing! It's warm and sunny at 70 degrees one day and freezing ass cold the next. What is up with the freaking weather? So i ask, can Christmas hurry up and be over already? I'm ready for some kind of normalcy. I'd settle for Old Man Winter to decide to either piss or getting off the pot.

About the only thing that has made me happy this joyous holiday season (yes, sarcasm is intended here) is the following. Watch and enjoy - oh and go elf yourself! :)

i tell ya, it was one down-right enjoyable episode. :)

the beach trip was interesting to say the least. a couple of times i would have liked to strangle my mother or at least just run off and left her in the current store she wouldn't leave...but then i look at the pictures. Is this adorable or what?! That is my mom on the right and my 85 year old grandmother on the left.

sad & happy too

I'm sad because i got expelled from the Top Designer contest. :( but it is okay. I look at it this way. At least i tried. I am trying to be more active in online contests, websites etc. And at least i didn't get knocked out the first week.

And i'm happy because i'm headed for the BEACH tomorrow morning!!!! Yay!!! I am sooooooo ready for a vacation.

We watched Resident Evil Extinction yesterday. it was pretty good. I jumped like a hundred times and Steven laughed at me each time.

Guess what?!

I am bloggin' from my new laptop! Hooray! I have been without my own computer for months now and it's been horrible! Steven always let me use his of course, but now i don't have to ask him to leave it at home or say, "hey, when you are done, can i use that"? that always sucked! Now i have one that's Mine - ALL MINE!




I'm in a scrapbooking contest right now called Top Designer at Badgirlskits.com. i made it through the first class and turned in #2 last night. I'll find out tomorrow whether or not i have been expelled from school or get on the honor roll. :)

I'm on fire!

I did 2 whole scrapbook pages and finished one i started last weekend!


We bought an elliptical machine today. It was pouring down rain when we got home, so it's still sitting in the back of my car.


We watched 2 good movies this past week, Disturbia and Fracture.


Big Brother has taken some interesting twists and turns, but that is what is so great about that show, they change their minds a hundred times a week and they don't usually do what you think they are. I've been watching the 3 hour live feed a night on Showtime a good bit. They talk strategy and game the whole time, i mean it makes sense, but not ever having watched the live stuff before i just didn't think about it. I feel bad for Eric, being America's player is going to eventually screw him. I think America is purposely trying to mess up his game.

She loves that thing so much. It chirps when you shake it and she goes bananas for it.

Don't let the cuteness fool you. She can be ferocious! She's the smallest of the 4 cats at around 3 or 4 pounds, but she is the deadliest. I love her though, even though she has scratched the living daylights out of me on more occasions that i can count.

Mia update

Just wanted to let everyone know that Mia is okay and back to normal for the most part. (everyone... ? hmm i think i know of 1 person that reads my blog. LOL)
Also, just to be clear, it was the handle of the nasty Walgreen's bag that was caught around her neck not the actual bag itself. I can't have my one reader thinking she could have suffocated. :)

$10,000 just slipped through my hands

Around nine o'clock last night my cat Mia lost one of her nine lives, i think she's down to 7 now.

She got a plastic Walgreen's bag caught around her neck and lost her freaking mind! It's her own fault really, for some reason she is drawn to bags whether they be plastic or paper. She loves to sit in them, on them and scratch them. But i guess this particular bag did not want to be sat on so it attacked her. I have never seen Mia run so fast in her life! This is a portly cat mind you, she's a good 18 pounds if not more. You'd think the devil himself was after her. She ran into every wall, cabinet and fixture in her way as she ran for her life, all the while Max chasing after her adding fuel to the fire. It was by far the funniest thing i've ever seen, i was unable to catch her to get the bag out from around her neck, i was trying to help her and she was running from me like i was the one who'd put her in this predicament. She finally stopped in between our hutch and mini refrigerator in the kitchen. She was so scared that the hair on her back was standing straight up! And she was growling the funniest little growl i've ever heard, and breathing very hard, i bet her heart had never beat faster. So i'm trying to reach over her head to pull the bag off all the while actually afraid she was going to try to bite me, i've never been scared of being bitten by Mia before! Sweet P, yes, Mia... never! So i went around to the back of the fridge where i was able to just pull the handle and it broke in two. But she still didn't move. Still growling and scared half to death i tried to coax her out but she wasn't having any of it. So i left her alone. About 30 minutes later i went back into the kitchen to find that she was still growling and now hissing at the other cats and me. I don't know why she was mad at me, i saved the heifer from the "bag of death". I tried to get her to come into the bed room but she wasn't having it, she hissed and ran away when i tried to pick her up. So i gave up and went to bed. This morning i was frantically trying to find her, she was M-I-A, i finally thought to look up and found her on top of the regular-sized fridge. Normally i would have made her jump down from there, but felt bad for her so i let her stay. She allowed me to pet her without growling. I imagine she jumped up there not long after i went to bed and stayed all night to avoid the ridicule and laughter of the other cats. She jumped down of course when i put food in the bowl. If only i could have caught the incident on tape i'm sure i could have won $10,000 on America's Funniest Home Videos!To prove her unhealthy obsession for bags, i have included this picture taken on a previous occasion. There was actually stuff IN this bag when she decided to make it her temporary housing, but that didn't stop her. Oh, the one that tried to kill Mia last night had a couple of items in it as well.

Big Brother is BAAAAACCCCK!! I'm so happy! BB is my all time favorite reality show. I wish it came on more than just during the summer. This season is already getting good.

I HATE Jen. Ugh, I have since I saw the first live feed on Showtime's Big Brother After Dark. I didn't watch Tuesday's episode until last night because Steven had been out of town and missed 3 episodes so he was still playing catch-up.
O-M-G, Big Brother history happened!Never in the previous 7 years has a Head of Household
threatened the veto players that if they did not knock the two nominees out of the veto competition and one of the nominees came off the block she would replace that nominee with their closest housemate. I was shocked! It was the stupidest thing Jen could have done, but then again she is proving time and time again that she is ignorant. I mean she is just dumb!
I LOOOOOVE Nick, i mean who wouldn't? Although that mustache he was sportin' in the last episode was cheeeeezy! I also like Dustin but someone tell me, is that a woman's gray t-shirt that he wears like all the time? It is a v-neck cut really low and it drives me crazy for some reason. Amber cries to freaking much, i mean for real girl suck it up! Oh and i don't like Zach, i want him gone and soon!
So i can't decide if i want Joe gone or if Dick should go (that's his name i'm not being nasty) :) I think the house will vote out Joe.

Speaking of Big Brother, did you know that Dr. Will, winner of season 2 and house guest of the all-stars season is on Dr. 90210?! I saw a commercial for it the other day and had to rewind to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me! That is too freaking funny! He said something like, "These woman are a 9, but they want to be a 10; that's why they come and see me". Ha ha ha, i think i remember him saying something like that on the show. I like Dr. Will he was a good player of the game.
Ok, enough BB talk.

I'm going to watch Steven play in a pool tournament this weekend. I wish they would ban smoking indoors in Alabama. That place is going to be so smokey so my allergies will be kickin' hard. I'll have to take my nose spray.

We watched "The Last Mimsy" last night. It was pretty good, cute movie for the kiddo's - probably why i liked it so much. hee hee It made me think of those movies "Witch Mountain" and "Return to Witch Mountain". I think that is what they were called. The kids have special powers or something and can just think and hear each other? I remember loving those movies. I remember my sister renting them one time when i spent the night at her house when i was little. I bet if i watched them now i would think they were really cheezy.

I was going to upload some new layouts and pictures but i can't find the cable for the camera so...... guess that won't be happening.

I liked it! Isn't bumblebee cute? :) In the movie in the main characters car there is what i am guessing is an air freshener hanging from the rear view mirror in the shape of a bee and it says "bee-otch". Hee hee! I have soooooo got to get me one of those!

We saw fantastic four - the rise of the silver surfer last night. It was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the 1st one.

We see a ton of movies in the theatre each year and rent them like crazy! We luvs us some movies!! We save our ticket stubs and i have wanted for a very long time to do a scrapbook of all our movie stubs, it is just a very daunting task to take on. I finally decided after after thinking about it for years that i will organize by sequels, scary movies, romantic comedies (won't be many of those) and then just the rest i guess. For a long time i couldn't decide what i wanted to do. Should i do it chronologically? If it put the 3 spiderman stubs together what will i do if they come out with #4?? It drove me crazy and the whole while Steven is asking me why i haven't done it yet. "That's the ONE thing i want you to scrapbook and you WON'T do it!" It's not that i don't want to dear, it's that it's intimidating!!! So i finally told myself to just get over myself and make a decision so i decided i would do 11 by 8 1/2 and organize like i stated above. *whew* now to just get started! I decided that like 3 weeks ago and have not done page #1 yet! Procrastinator? I think so!

I have the ticket stub of the 1st movie we ever saw together - isn't that sweet. It was Fear, great movie for a new couple to go see huh? btw that will be page #1, all by itself. :)

So now that you've read all that and wondered why should i care, i shall continue with other news. It appears that Steven and i have gone and gotten old. He had a particularly long hard day at work yesterday so he was pretty wiped last night. After the movie we ate dinner and he fell asleep in his recliner at like 8:30! A little later i went into the bed room because Ultimate Fighter was recording and i do not care for it. Next thing i know, Steven is crawling into bed and soon after is snoring!!! I find myself drifting off so i decide what the heck and turn the TV off and lay down. The noise of the TV turning off woke Steven up long enough for him to declare that we are a couple of old people going to bed at 9:30 on a Friday night. I have to agree. Steven was awake bright and early this morning at like 6:30 and wouldn't let me go back to sleep. There is just something wrong with being up that early on a Saturday morning...

So we saw Pirates At Worlds End last weekend. Man did it suck. I mean it had it's funny moments but it was entirely too long. I just didn't get it, i mean they "released Calypso from her human form" and all she did was create a big whole in the ocean. I mean really?? And now Will and Elizabeth can't see each other for 10 years. ugh. i was so disappointed. And Jack only said "Savvy?" once at the very end! So not only am i sitting in a packed movie theatre watching a movie i was wishing was over already add in that a little terrorist child was sitting behind me kicking my chair THE ENTIRE MOVIE. Turning around and glaring at her and even having Steven turn around didn't seem to do anything. I hate it when parents allow their children be rude! I finally had to get up and move on the other side of Steven. She had apparently just come from Karate lessons because she was wearing her Gi. I told Steven she was going to need those lessons.


That was pretty much all we did for Memorial Day. Just kinda laid back and took it easy.

I've been scrapping 11 x 8 1/2 and i luvs it! I am going to mix it up with 12x12 in my books. So here are some pages i did last weekend and this weekend. I'm really lovin' paint right now if you can't tell.

I had so much fun with this one. I used my finger to paint even inside "cats".

Well i hope your National Scrapbook Day was better than mine! I got some sort of stomach bug, i don't know if it was from food or what but i spent the majority of Saturday in the bed! No fun at all!!! :( I did watch a lot of TV though! a little QVC for NSD (didn't buy anything) and i mananged to get almost completely caught up on Grey's Anatomy that i've been TIVOing instead of watching regularly. Speaking of TV, it's Monday so Heroes tonight! Woohoo!

7 days is too long to wait...

to find out what happens next on Heroes!!!!! OMG that was the best episode EVER! When it was revealed that Nathan was really Sylar (in the future) my chin hit the floor, i mean i sat there in shock for like ever! Peter was with Nikki but at first you thought it was Jessica, Parkman was a complete tool, Ando was dead and that's why Hiro was all like gansta'. Good grief i love that show! it is the best show on TV!! i do not know how i'll get through the summer without it. Kick butt future Peter!

Monday already??!!

No! Really? Sheesh! Man the weekend files when you're on the move! How was Stark-Vegas you ask? (i heard hubby call it that on the phone with one of his buddies - LOL, you KNOW that is going to be the title of my layout) It was great! Not a whole lot happened, dropped Steven off at the pool hall and got settled into the hotel. We stayed at Hotel Chester which looked like it belonged on Bourbon Street instead of where it was. It was a cute, very small hotel. I'll post some pics later. Then i went exploring, clothing stores Wal-mart etc. I was going to go to a scrapbook store about 30 minutes away in Colombus, but when i called at 3 pm to get directions i was informed that they were closing in 30 mins!! WTH?! Who closes at 3:30 in the afternoon? So they didn't get any of my money. Instead i went back to the room and started scrapping. Then i got a headache which made me nauseous so i went and laid down to try to feel better. I managed to get 1 and 1/2 pages done. Oh well, that is better than nothing. Probably wouldn't have gotten much more than that done if i'd stayed at home.
We watched Deja Vu yesterday, the movie with Denzel Washington and Val Kilmer (man he looked bad!) anyhoo, the movie was awe-some!
Heroes tonight! We are going to see what happens 5 years in the future if they don't save the world -- COOL! Can't wait!

Road Trip!!!

Woohoo! Just got a call from the hubby wanting to know if i wanted to go with him to Starkville, MS - uh... YEAH!!! I never get invited to Starkville, you think i'm going to pass it up? It's usually boys only. pbbtthh! boys suck - the wifey rules! hee hee i'm so excited! and i just can't hide it. LOL okay, okay...
Now, for the important stuff, is there a scrapbook store in or around Starkville???!!! Google here i come! Hooray for me!
Oh, side note, the reason we are going to Starkville is for a pool tourney i'm sure, haven't gotten the details yet.

Heroes Baby!!!

It's back tonight! All is right with the world again!! I'm a little concerned about the whole "the final 5 chapters". I will be really sad if there are truly only 5 episodes left and there is no next season. So i'm keeping my fingers crossed. I wanted to find a really steamy pic of Peter, but then i found this one of Hiro and it seemed to convey my excitement so i went with it. Plus i love Hiro!

This year instead of dying easter eggs i decided to dye myself! :) I got my hair colored red, well sorta red. I love it!

Okay i know i've got a lot to catch up on, i haven't been doing so well with the whole blogging thing. :(

Let's see, Cirque du Soliel came to town so Steven and i went and saw Delirium. It was pretty cool! I was a little worried at first because it was a lot of singing and people banging on things and not much else. But then the contortionists and such came out and i was happy.

The cats love it when Steven cleans out the aquariums...

I haven't done a lot of scrapping lately which makes me sad. But what can you do? I altered a Maya Road purse for Scrapbook Mania, it turned out cute. It's in the store you should go check it our! It's decorated for a little girl's birthday party.

Maniac Madness

I had a lot of fun this weekend. Got to see a lot of scrappin' buddies that i haven't seen in a while. We always have so much fun when we get together. And of course the tradition continued... Mexican food and margarita's!

I didn't get too many pages done, only 5, but i did a lot of laughing! That counts right?

There's nothing like a good mani and pedi

My finger and toe nails are bright BLUE! i wanted something fun for this weekend's crop. Now blue toenails are pretty common for ol' Joy, but i'm usually more conservative on my fingernails, but i thought what the heck?! Percentage Steven will like it...2.
Nothing else exciting is going on, just watching Idol. The guys were TERRIBLE last night! Were their grandmothers picking their songs or what? The girls are doing considerably better so far.

Monday's are a drag

Eh, it wasn't that bad. :) I did do something pretty cool today, i entered the FUNK IT UP contest on www.scrapforums.com. There are like a million people in the contest and their work is pretty good. I don't know how long i'll last, but it's worth a shot right? At least i'll get some pages done. I've never done anything like this before.

You can't see Primo very well, his head is out of the frame. Mia is the gray & white one, Sweet P is the black & white one and Max is the orange & white one. I love my puddytats.
